About me
MARISELA MUSIK: Past & PresentOrigins
I'm a singer-songwriter, originally from Caracas Venezuela.
Taught myself how to play the guitar at 12 because i felt the need to accompany my voice
and thought in that way i could play & sing anything i wanted…!
And that's when i discovered Music, as an essential part of me and who i was and wanted to be.
Choosing The Path
I started studying music in a Music Conservatory back in Caracas when i was 16,
but dropped out to go to collage and have a 'normal career', which soon i discovered wasn't anything for me.
At that same time i was experiencing my 1st pop/rock band which whom i played for over 2 1/2 years.
We toured in Venezuela & around the Caribbean Islands,
and one of those trips i was offered a contract & a new life away from home with a new band...
I didn't hesitate to go & after having my mother's blessings, so i did.
Starting A New Life
Then i came to be in Aruba, where i spent the last 10 years of my life.
That experience not only let me see & discover myself as an artist driven by music,
but also let me grow as a human being, and a singer songwriter with an open heart
with the will to tell stories about love, life and everything in between, starting from my own experiences.
The Idea Of An Album Was Born
That's how "She Confidential" was born and every song that followed.
It was an unstoppable desire to write & compose. I was fascinated!
It all started with the idea of making an album, then it came the video clip,
and from then on i just kept on flying over rooftops & climbing up the clouds,
on my way to reach the stars and see my dreams of life & music coming true.
The Change
Home is where the heart is, and so i keep on following my heart.
I felt it was time for a change, to take my musical journey to new horizons,
and that's how i came to the Netherlands, a country a was familiar with since living in Aruba;
where i'm hoping to find new ways & opportunities to grow and let my music grow with me.
What's My Music Like?
Music to me is a way of life, a road to freedom, of expressing who i am and what i want to say with it. The experience of a moment in time.
The predominant style of my music is a combination of the indie dream pop & easy listening genres
with hints of folk, trip hop & world/latin rhythms.
Every song tells a story made up of true emotions, memoires & dreams.
New Life, New Band, New Beginning!
Just put together my new band "Sela Indie Attic" which will be accompanying me throughout this my musical journey.
